This is the story of a heartfelt desire of a few likeminded, committed and dedicated individuals who wanted to do some kind of service to the local community of socially, educationally and economically challenged children who had no means for even basic primary education and thus had no means to create a better life and a brighter future for themselves and their families and their community.

BACKGROUND of STUDENTS and PARENTS
All the children in the school are ‘First Generation School Goers’. Most of the parents are daily wage earners having a minimum of 3 to 4 children. It is very difficult for them to pay fees for all their children and would prefer a working child to augment the family income. They need to be cajoled, induced & largely motivated to enroll their children to the to JGRV due to its low fee structure. However, in the case of parents who are unable to pay even this low fee due to genuine reasons, we support them by getting sponsors to take care of the education of their child(ren). Further, no child is refused admission or taken out of the rolls due to non-payment of fees.
AIM: In the long run, the school attempts, in its own humble way, to make India a literate nation and these children tax-paying citizens of the country.

A SCHOOL WITH A DIFFERENCE
The school charges very less fees which is affordable by the students and their parents from the economically challenged background. However, no child is sent away due to non payment of fees for whatever period of time.
Of the 846 students in the year 2015-16, 137 students availed the benefit of complete financial aid for their education in our school through individuals who have sponsored their education. Additionally 33 students availed free education under RTE.

HOSTEL for GIRLS: YASHODHA GRUHA
We used to see that many of the school children come from difficult circumstances and disadvantaged backgrounds. Some of them had lost both or one parent and the living parent was unable to take care of their child(ren). Many such children were living in very tough environments with relatives or grandparents. There was a need for hostel facilities for such children who were in such abusive or indifferent environments that were not condusive for their growth and education.

While there was one such facility for boys which some of our school boys were using, there was none for girls. Therefore, in June 2015, we started Yashodha Gruha - home for girls. The home now houses eight girls who are under the loving care of their care giver. The facility is within the school premises and the girls are meritorious students and are given free accommodation and food and stay with us till 10th Std.
